UP govt. to abolise clause of Sugarcane Board

Lucknow, May 10(UNI) Uttar Pradesh government today decided to abolish the clause for setting up a Sugarcane Board under the UP Sugarcane Act 1953.

The decision to abolish the clause was taken at the state cabinet chaired by UP Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav here. The decision had been taken as it was felt unnecessary to constitute a board when their are several advisory institutions for development of sugarcane, said state chief secretary Navin Chandra Bajpayee.

In another decision, the cabinet today approved the change in the name of the State Advisory Price for Sugarcane to Cane Price Notified by the government.

The change was made after amending the Sugarcane Purchase- Supply Order 1954 on the minimum sugarcane price to be announced by the state government.
