Tata Teleservices launches free outgoing calls

Bangalore, May 10: Tata Teleservices today launched a new product --Tata Indocom 'Don't Stop Mobile' across all its 20 Circles allowing subscribers to make free outgoing calls for a period of two years to any Tata Indicom mobile of fixed phone within a State.

Announcing the launch in Bangalore, Tata Teleservices Chief Operating Officer, Karnataka Circle, Mansoor Ameen said that it was aimed to tap a potential of 100,000 subscribers a month in the Circle.

He said that out of nine million subscribers across the country, Tata Teleservices has a base of nearly half a million subscribers in Karnataka and this would enhance considerably this year, he added.

The Company aim to penetrate to 300 towns and cities in the State this year as against the current status of little over 200.

He said the new product announced today surpassed all previous efforts made in India's booming telecom industry to provide affordable and customer friendly telecom services.

Mr Ameen said the subscribers would be provided with an initial talk time of Rs 10 for calls to other phones. With 'Don't Stop Mobile' there was no fixed monthly commitment, subscribers were free to recharge with any denomination and use the value for the entire validity period of mobile, two years.

The service was available on a range of new mobile handsets: Indicom Ace(price RS 2299), Haier D1000 (Rs 2499), Kyocera Prisma (Rs 2799) and Indicom Star (Rs 3749).

Based on the success of non-stop mobile, the Company had introduced the new scheme, he added.
