Reactivation of IDPL, Hyderabad unit in the offing
Hyderabad, May 10 (UNI) Various associations like BDMA, Pharmexcil and IPA-(AP state branch) of pharmaceutical manufacturers operating in the state have come together to re-activate Indian Drugs and Pharmaceuticals Ltd., the defunct public sector pharmaceutical manufacturing unit in the city.
A press release said the associations realised the immediate need for developing trained scientific manpower required in the pharma industry, and were looking for establishing a Centre for developing trained human resource in the pharmaceutical sector.
The Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals of the Union Government, who owned the IDPL, including the synthetic Drugs Plant in Hyderabad was keen on revitalizing IDPL in the best possible manner within the available infrastructure.
Ms Satwant Reddy, secretary and Mr G S Sandhu, Joint Secretary, Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals, made a special visit to Hyderabad and held an interactive meeting with industry associations represented by senior personnel from the industry today.
