Parliament calls for bringing Suryanarayan's killers to book

New Delhi, May 10 (UNI) Strongly condemning the brutal killing of telecom engineer K Suryanarayan by the Taliban recently, both Houses of Parliament today said the Afghanistan government should take steps to bring the culprits to book.

We believe the Afghanistan government will take steps to apprehend and bring the perpetrators of this dastardly crime to justice, Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee and Rajya Sabha Chairman Bhairon Singh Shekhawat said in separate statements.

The two House also expressed solidarity with the people and the government of Afghanistan in their efforts to build a sovereign, stable, democratic and prosperous country.

Suryanarayan was abducted and later brutally killed in Afghanistan on April 29.
