Mumbai, May 10 (UNI) The benchmark index of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) traded at new all time high of 12,574.49 this afternoon with a gain of 60.63 points on the back of good gains in oil&gas major ONGC, banking blue chips and metal scrips.

ONGC was up by 4.94 per cent to Rs 1,511 with a gain of Rs 71.15.

SBI today crossed Rs 1,000 mark for the first time touching a high of Rs 1,007 and traded at Rs 1,001.70 with a gain of 2.73 per cent.

ICICI bank too was up by 3.74 per cent to Rs 663 with a gain of Rs 23.90.

Earlier the Sensitive Index(Sensex) touched a new high of 12,624.37 points this morning after crossing 12,600 mark.

Sensex after opening at 12,546 points as compared to the last close of 12,514 points soon crossed 12,600 mark for the first time in its history.

The National Stock Exchange (NSE) S&P CNX Nifty index was up by 26 points at 3,747 points.

BSE Bankex index was up by 2.52 per cent,BSE Metal index was up by 1.71 per cent and BSE PSU index was up by 1.71 per cent as well.

The smallcap and midcap indices were also trading with 1.45 and 0.84 per cent gains.

The top gainers were ONGC,ICICI Bank, SBI, Tata Power, Hindalco, Tata Steel, Bajaj Auto, Larsen&Toubro, HDFC Bank, Infosys.

The top losers on the Sensex were ACC, Gujarat Ambuja Cements, Grasim Industries, Dr Reddy's Lab., Tata Motors, Reliance, HDFC, Maruti, ITC and Cipla.
