North and West Zones register victories

Thiruvananthapuram, May 10 (UNI) North Zone and West Zone registered victories over East Zone and South Zone respectively in the Inter-zone Cricket Tournament for the J K Bose Trophy, held in connection with the Sports Journalists Federation of India (SJFI)'s annual convention here today.

While North Zone beat East Zone by 96 runs, the West Zone snatched full points beating South Zone by 33 runs.

In Table Tennis, Assam and Mumbai entered the finals, beating Hydrabad and Kolkata respectively.

Brief scores: North Zone: 201 for six (25 overs). Sidhu (76), Dharmandar Pande (43), Vijayakumar (30). Kishore Talkudar 2/33.

East Zone: 105 for nine. Tauhid Ali (30), S Mudakar 2/7.

West Zone 173 for six. Anand Naik (60 N O), Sathesh Reddy 2/24.

South Zone: 140 for nine (23.3 overs). Sudarshan 33, Uday Reghunath 4/36.
