MRPS to organise public meeting on May 12

Hyderabad, May 10 (UNI) Demanding that the government introduce a bill for categorisation of Scheduled Castes (SC) into four groups, Madiga Reservation Porata Samithi (MRPS) state President K Kanaka Rao today said the MRPS would organise a public meeting on May 12 here.

Talking to reporters here, Mr Rao said the state government had already adopted a resolution for categorisation of SCs into A B C D groups on December 10, 2004, but the Centre was not taking any steps to introduce a Bill in Parliament.

Alleging that the opposition Telugu Desam party (TDP) and BJP, which had been supporting SC categorisation, were not exerting pressure on the government, he demanded that the government implement SC categorisation during this academic year.

Mr Rao said the MRPS would also organise ''Radha Yatras'' to press their demands.
