K'taka to reconstitute Land Tribunals in one month

Bangalore, May 10 (UNI) Karnataka Revenue Minister Jagdish Shettar today informed that the process of reconstituting Land Tribunals and reviving 'Bagar Hukum Committees' for regularising cultivation on government land would be completed within a month.

Talking to reporters here, he said the process of regularising the cultivation on the government land would be completed by 2007.

The Bagar Hukum Committees would be headed by elected representatives at the taluk level. The Ministry had received more than 10.9 lakh applications in this regard as of January last, he added.
