K'taka Oppn leaders to meet again to discuss CET issue

Bangalore, May 10 (UNI) Taking an all-party delegation to the Centre to find an alternative solution to end the CET tangle in Karnataka is one of the suggestions made by Leaders of the Opposition of both the Houses of the Legislature at an inconclusive meeting called by Higher Education Minister D H Shankarmurthy to discuss the issue today.

Informing this to reporters here, Legislative Council Chairman V R Sudarshan said the meeting would be continued on May 12 and 13.

He said several suggestions, including taking of an all-party delegation to the Centre to explore the possibilities of finding alternative solution in view of the Supreme Court verdict in the issue.

Mr Shankarmurthy said the meeting also discussed about keeping the Indian System of Medicines, Homoeopathy and Unani, out of the CET Bill. The government would have to bring a separate policy for its promotion in a bigger way, he added.
