Kashyap new IFA president, Datta and team sail through
Kolkata, May 10 (UNI) The IFA general body today unanimously elected Aditya Kashyap as the new president and re-elected Subrata Datta as secretary of the organisation.
The 43-member general body of IFA today made quick work of the election with the president and secretary being elected uncontested and unanimously for the sports governing body in West Bengal.
For the vice-president's place former IFA secretary Ranjit Gupta had proposed Ashoke Bose's name who could gather only three votes.
The panel of Krishnendu Banerjee, Prafulla Seth and N R Datta were elected vice-presidents after their name was proposed by Mr Kalyan Majumdar.
For the treasurer's post there were two contestants--K D Paul and Jahar Das. However, the former, who was a nominee of the ruling regime sailed through by 41-2 votes.
