Frenchwoman murdered in Pondy
Pondicherry, May 10 :A 55-year-old French national was murdered at her house here last night, police today said.
Philomina, along with her husband Benova Augustine, was living in Pondicherry while their children and other relatives were in France.
They engaged one Pasumatha, hailing from Bengal as their domestic servant-cum-driver and he was working with the family for the last three years. Following some problem, he was sacked sometime ago.
Pasumatha pleaded with Benova to reinstate him, which he refused.
Last night, he came to their house and rang the bell.
When Philomina opened the door, he slit her throat with a blade and ran away. She died on the spot.
Grand Bazaar police rushed to the spot and shifted the body to the Government General Hospital for post-mortem.
Police have registered a case and are searching for Pasumatha.
