CNG bus catches fire on Ahmd-Vadodara Expressway; none hurt

Ahmedabad, May 10 (UNI) As many as 50 occupants, including driver and conductor, of State Transport's CNG-run bus had a miraculous escape when it caught sudden fire on the Ahmedabad-Vadodara Expressway this afternoon.

According to police, the incident took place at around 1315 hrs when the inter-city bus of Gujarat State Road and Transport Corporation (GSRTC) coming to Ahmedabad from Vadodara caught fire suddenly, just when it was about 15 kms away from the city.

All the passengers and bus driver and conductor got down immediately, before the fire could engulf any of them.

The fire-fighters from Nadiad and Ahmedabad rushed to the spot and managed to put off the flames after hectic operations.

Investigation into the cause of fire was on, police added.
