CII to hold Conference with AP Govt on May 11

Hyderabad, May 10 (UNI) The Confederation of Indian Industry, partnering with the Andhra Pradesh Government will hold a one-day conference at Hyderabad on May 11, unravelling the potential of the KG Basin, which may turn out to be another Gulf of Mexico.

The Conference would deliberate on prospects, problems and policies of Natural gas, Infrastructure for best utilisation, distribution of natural gas from K-G basin and strategies for sustained, competitive gas marketing, among other issues.

Total hydrocarbon resources, inclusive of deep waters were estimated at around 28 billion tonne oil and oil-equivalent of gas.

As on April 2004 initial in-place oil of 7.89 billion tonne and ultimate reserves of 2.94 billion tonne had been established and deepwater hydrocarbon resources are more than Mumbai high, a CII release said.
