New Delhi, May 10 (UNI) The Cauvery Water Disputes Tribunal today decided to seek the views of the riparian states on the Assessor's Report on crop water requirement and gave them five weeks time to respond.

The CWDT's latest order comes in place of its April 21 Order directing the Centre to appoint a three member experts panel to go into the cropping pattern and other water requirements.

The assessors report, presently under circulation within the Tribunal, will now be sent to the states for their views. The order was read out by its Member N S Rao for the Tribunal.

The CWDT's revised order comes in the wake of the riparian states favouring a final order as constituting an experts committee would only delay the award of the tribunal, set up 16 years ago.
