2 college students from B'lore to take part in 'Know US' quiz

Bangalore, May 10 (UNI) Two college students from the city have been selected by the US Consulate to compete in the 'Know US' competition to be held in Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan here on May 20.

Asha Suparna, a journalism student at Bishop Cotton Women's Christian College and Afeefa Basheer, studying BSc in Al-Ameen College would represent their colleges and Bangalore in the competition in which 40 undergraduates from 36 colleges were participating, a release from the US Consulate, Chennai, said today.

Undergraduate students from Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, besides Karnataka, would be participating in the quiz programme, designed to test students' knowledge of America.

The winner would get an HP laptop computer and three runner-ups iPod MP3 music players.

The questions would range from American history to politics, geography to art and literature to current affairs.

The programme was sponsored by Gem Granites, HP, Polaris and the Indo-American Chamber of Commerce.
