Toshibha launches new Note Book PC with HD DVD-ROM Drive

Bangalore, May 9 (UNI) Toshiba Corporation, a global high technology product leader today added another feather to its cap by introducing world's first notebook PC with HD DVD-ROM drive, Qosmio G30 with cutting-edge enhancements.

Speaking on the occasion, Company Computer Systems Division Manager (Distribution business for South Asia) Ivan Kam said that the new version Qosmio G30 was the latest model of Toshiba's flagship 'Four-in-one' audio-video entertainment notebook with state-of-the-art product.

He said that this latest model digital convergence notebook line offers the best value to consumers with innovative feather and also marks the continuation of Toshiba's overall strategy to be a market leader in both innovation and value.

Describing the features of the 'Qosmio G30' Mr Kam said that it offers enhanced capabilities with the latest Intel Centrino Duo Mobile Technology, two 100 GB serial ATA hard disk drive that incorporate Toshiba RAID software to give consumers the flexibility of optimum storage capacity using both drives or secure data redundancy on one drive and 1024mb DDR2 dual-channel memory.

He said the Qosmio G30 was the world's first PC to integrate an HD DVD-ROM drive, with a slim-type drive only 12.7 mm high and it was achieved with on-drive optical system with a single objective lens able to read HD DVD-ROM discs and read and write to DVDs and CDs.

Mr Kam also introduced another four models of note books TECRA M5, 12-inch screen PORTAGE M500, and two other Satellite A100 and M100 note book series which were brought out by the company recently.

Declining to divulge about the marketing strategies and its share in the Indian market in the notebook segment, Mr Kam said that with innovative facilities and offering cutting-edge technologies in its product the company looks forward to penetrate Indian market specially targetting professionals, Corporate segment and also government.
