TDP stages rasta roko on reservations for Muslims

Adilabad, Andhra Pradesh, May 9 (UNI) The opposition Telugu Desam Party today staged a ''rasta roko'' on National HighWay 7 alleging that the ruling Congress party was deceiving Muslim minorities on its promise of five per cent reservations in education and employment.

Traffic came to a standstill on the busy highway for more than two hours due to the agitation.

The TDP activists also shouted slogans against the Chief Minister and burnt his effigy.

The Party leaders also alleged that the Congress Government had promised reservations only for electoral benefits and had no intention to implement it.
