Tata Sky partners with Humax to launch its DTH service in mid-2006
New Delhi, May 9 (UNI) Tata Sky Ltd today announced its partnership with Humax, the world's leading digital satellite set-top box manufacturer, to support the launch of its Direct-To-Home (DTH) service in mid-2006.
Under the partnership, Humax will manufacture set-top boxes in India and also provide after-sales service and support network for Tata Sky customers.
Tata Sky, which is a joint venture between the Tata group and Star, is investing in building a high quality digital infrastructure in the country to offer a superior television viewing experience to Indian households.
Tata Sky Ltd CEO Vikram Kaushik said, ''We are committed to building a state-of-the-art DTH operation in India and offer customers with the best satellite TV services available. Our agreement with Humax takes us closer to our goal.'' With this launch, Tata Sky aims to becoime India's largest digital television platform, offering consumers a wide array of programming choices with interactive features and superior picture and sound quality.
