Shramjivi Express blast accused remanded in judicial custody
Jaunpur, May 9 (UNI) A prime accused in last year's Patna-New Delhi Shramjivi Express bomb blast case was today remanded in judicial custody till May 22 by a lower court.
The accused, Obaid-ur-Rehman, was produced before the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Ashok Kumar Yadav.
Obaid-ur-Rehman alias Babu alias Babu Bhai was brought here from district jail, Murshidabad, West Bengal under tight security.
Later, he was shifted to Jaunpur district jail under judicial custody.
The bomb blast aboard Shramjivi Express on July 28, 2006 near Singramau railway station in Jaunpur had claimed at least 14 lives, while about 90 persons were wounded.
Meanwhile, district magistrate Anurag Yadav said tight security would be maintained in-and-around the jail for the accused.
