Man gets ten years imprisonment for killing colleague

New Delhi, May 9 (UNI) A tent house worker who killed a colleague over tips has been convicted of culpable homicide not amounting to murder and given ten years imprisonment.

Patiala House Court Additional Sessions Judge (ASJ) K C Lohia held Mohammad Ifraz guilty of killing his colleague Rajesh, 28, and sentenced him to ten years' imprisonmentand a fine of Rs 5000.

Ifraz was working with Dhyani tent house in R K Puram along with Dalbir Singh- a daily wager, Arjun and Dev Kumar. On April 14, 2004, at about 2030 hrs, Ifraz and his colleague had an altercation regarding the amount of tips they had received after fixing up the tent house for a marriage party in Laxmibai Nagar.

According to the prosecution, Ifraz stabbed Rajesh with a sharp-edged knife two or three times. There were twenty Prosecution Witnesses (PW) in this case. He was arrested on April 23.

Ifraz was convicted under section 304 (Culpable homicide not amounting to murder) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
