MakeMyTrip.com bags Emerging India Award for Travel

New Delhi, May 9 (UNI) MakeMyTrip.com, an online travel company has been awarded the CNBC-TV18&ICICI Bank "Emerging India Award" in the Travel&Tourism (T&T) category for the year 2006.

"We pioneered online travel in India and continue to retain our position as the leaders and experts in the online travel domain," MakeMyTrip.com Founder&CEO Deep Kalra said.

These awards are a pioneering initiative to recognise the contribution of Small&Medium Enterprises (SMEs) towards the growth of the Indian economy.

The CNBC-TV18 'Emerging India Awards' initiative recognises the most sustainable value creators among SMEs in the country.

The award received 35,000 nominations this year.

The India business of MakeMyTrip was launched in September 2005 as an online travel site with real time booking for flights, hotels, holidays and cars.
