'Mahajan had carved a niche in people's mind: condolence motion

Mumbai, May 9 (UNI) Late Pramod Mahajan was a staunch Hindutva proponent and had carved a niche for himself in people's mind as the future Prime Minister, described the condolence motion, which was today passed in the state executive committee meeting of the state BJP.

The meeting was attended by former deputy prime minister L K Advani and party president Rajnath singh apart from all leaders from the state.

The condolence motion was read out by state BJP general secretary and MLC Vinod Tavade.

The two-page condolence motion enlisted many skills and talents of the departed leader in his 35-year old political career.

The motion said he played vital role in bringing the Shiv Sena-BJP alliance to the power in the state.

Highlighting his contribution at the national level, the motion said late Mahajan was the trusted Lieutnant of former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Mr Advani when the 24-party alliance government was functioning at the Centre.

He was considered as the election expert and master strategist who accepted victories as well as defeats with a smiling face. He had contributed immensely to the field of technology as the IT minister.

The motion also described that late Mahajan had the dream of making rupee more powerful than that of dollar.
