Written by: Staff

Hyderabad, May 9 (UNI) The Indian School of Business (ISB) today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Indu Projects Ltd (IPL), a city-based real estate company to set up a Research Chair for ''Real Estate and Urban Studies.'' This is the first research chair being established by the ISB. IPL is making a grant of USD 550,000 spread over a period of five years. The Chair will function under the Wadhwani Centre for Entrepreneurial Development (WCED) at the ISB.

Speaking on the occasion, ISB Dean Prof M Rammohan Rao said ''The Research Chair is of great significance to ISB, as it is not only the first to be instituted at the ISB, but also the first Chair in Real Estate and Urban Studies in India.'' IPL is a diversified company, on a fast-track growth path more than doubling its businesses year after year. It has a core competency in building, developing and promoting IT parks, integrated townships, urban residential complexes, theme parks and also in the area of building core infrastructure.

IPL Managing Director and CEO Syam Prasad Reddy opined that the study of real estate was extremely important to the economic development of the state and the nation.

''At Indu we believe in knowledge being a driver of growth but there is a dearth of knowledge in the real estate sector,'' he added.
