Haryana to improve law and order in vicinity of Delhi: Hooda
Chandigarh, May 9 (UNI) The Haryana government has written to the Union Home Ministry to provide necessary assistance to the state government for improving the law and order situation in the National Capital Region (NCR).
''We are determined to improve the law and order situation in the NCR and bring it at par with the national capital,'' Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda said here today while talking to mediapersons.
The Chief Minister said the government was concentrating on better policing in the NCR, particularly in the fast developing cities of Gurgaon and Faridabad, he added.
The government had sanctioned 30 more Gypsy vehicles for Gurgaon district to be deployed as PCR vans. Demand for another 120 vehicles had been made to the government for the entire NCR.
In addition, eight more police stations, including one exclusively devoted to cyber crime, are being set up in Gurgaon district.
A spokesman of Haryana police said special teams of 40-50 personnel had been constituted in Gurgaon city to check organised crimes. These teams were functioning independent of the police stations under deputy superintendent of police, Rajesh Kalia.
Communication systems were also being strengthened in Gurgaon and Faridabad, with a radio tracking system costing Rs eight crore in the process of being sanctioned. Besides, close circuit cameras with 360 degree coverage were being installed at 60 different locations in Gurgaon to keep a tab on vehicular movement and suspicious activities, the spokesman said.
