Govt announces transfer of visit visas to work permits

Dubai, May 9 (UNI) Indian job seekers in Kuwait can heave a sigh of relief as the government has announced the transfer of visit visas to work permits, on condition that the applicant is a university graduate.

The Ministry of Social Affairs and Labour yesterday said 200 Kuwaiti dinars (Rs 30,800) would be collected for each employee under this process.

Such applicant must pass medical tests according to Health Ministry standards, an official said.

He said workers, who entered the country before this decision, will be exempt from these regulations, and a one-month grace period will be given to them to obtain work permits.
