Fifty children hospitalised after eating 'kulfi'

Porbandar, May 9 (UNI) At least fifty children were hospitalised at Bhavsinhji Hospital here with symptoms of suspected food poisoning yesterday.

According to official sources, the affected children, in the age group of two to five years, fell sick after consuming 'kulfi'' (ice candy), purchased from a vendor at Choliyana village in Kutiyana taluka of this district.

All the children were first treated at Kutiyana Primary Health Centre and later taken to Porbandar hospital, the sources said.

The children were responding to treatment, the sources added.

Opposition Leader in Gujarat Legislative Assembly and Congress leader Arjun Modhwadia visited the children at the hospital.
