Development of Bangalore: Stakeholders' meeting held

Bangalore, May 9 (UNI) Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy held a stakeholders' consultation meeting here today to elicit the views of MPs, MLAs and MLCs from the city to develop a City Development Strategy plan.

It may be recalled that Bangalore had been selected under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission for development, along with 62 other cities across the country. In Karnataka, Bangalore and Mysore have been included under the scheme. While Bangalore would be developed as a megacity category-A, Mysore would be developed under tourism and heritage as category-C city.

Karnataka Urban Infrastructure Development Finance Corporation Chairman and Managing Director Javid Aktar made a power point presentation about the mission, to be implemented in seven years, at the meeting.
