CPI demands all party delegation to Delhi
Hyderabad, May 9 (UNI) CPI leader S Sudhakar Reddy, MP today urged Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy to take an all party delegation to New Delhi to impress upon Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for the setting up of IIT at Basara.
Addressing a press conference here, he said the Centre should, on its own, set up the institution in the backward Telangana region to groom experts for implementing projects in the public sector.
Speaking against the Centre's move for IITs in the private sector, he said it would cater to the need of promoting private companies only. Commercialisation of education would not be beneficial for the SCs, STs, and OBCs, he pointed out.
He demanded a change in the state'education policy to facilitate junior colleges in mandals and degree colleges in the constituencies in the Backward Telengana region.
