Ashok Leyland sales for Apr-06, up 47.3% to 5,039 vehicles

New Delhi, May 9 (UNI) Commercial vehicle manufacturer Ashok Leyland today reported a 47.3 per cent increase in the sale of its vehicles for April 2006, at 5,039 units, as against 3,422 units for the corresponding month last year.

The domestic sales of the company for the same period were up 50 per cent to 4,733 vehicles, from 3,160 vehicles in April last year.

Ashok Leyland produced a total of 5,516 vehicles for April 2006, as against 4,090 vehicles for the corresponding period last fiscal, a jump of 35 per cent.

The company also reported a 15 per cent increase in its exports for April 2006, at 289 units as against 251 units for the same period last year.
