Army recovered huge cache of arms and ammunition in south Kashmir
Srinagar, May 9 (UNI) Troops achieved yet another success in south Kashmir when they unearthed a hideout and recovered a large quantity of arms and ammunition including explosives, a defence spokesman said.
He said troops conducted a search operation on specific information at Bijbehara in south Kashmir district of Anantnag yesterday afternoon.
He said after a long search troops finally unearthed the hideout and recovered 24 remote control for IEDs, 28 kgs of assorted explosives, two electric detonators, ten pencil cells, two dry batteries, three ball bearing packets (large), forty plastic boxes to house IEDs, one wire cutter, one soldering iron, soldering wire bundles, six radio sets and one rifle silencer.
The recovery of arms and ammunition came two days after the Hizbul Mujahideen bomb expert was killed by troops in an encounter.
