AIADMK volunteers attacked in post-poll violence

Cuddalore, Tamil Nadu, May 9 (UNI) In yet another incident of post-poll violence, a 15-member armed gang attacked four AIADMK volunteers at Natham in Nellikuppam constituency of the district last night.

Police said the gang, which came in a car, indiscriminately attacked the AIADMK men, sleeping at a party election office, around mignight.

The victims were identified as Bhaskaran (25), Kumar (32), Sakthivel (27) and Amudhu alias Arumugam (35). Bhaskaran and Arumugam who suffered cut injuries in arms and fingers were admitted to Government Stanely Hospital in Chennai, while the other two were taken to the Government Hospital here.

The gang abused the AIADMK men for having worked for the Marumalarchi DMK (MDMK) candidate. They fled in the car immediately after the attack. Police registered a case and is investigating.
