AGP candidate injured in ULFA shooting, body guard killed

Guwahati, May 9 (UNI) The ULFA today shot and injured Pradeep Hazarika, AGP candidate from Amguri, and killed his body guard at Dikusu in Sivsagar district.

A party supporter was also critically injured in this incident.

The incident occurred when he and his supporters were travelling in a motorcycle convoy. The ULFA militants fired upon him from a Bamboo grove at around 1330 hours.

Mr Hazarika and the party supporter Debakanta Gohain received bullet injuries in right shoulder and stomach. He was taken to a local nursing home.
