Imphal, May 9 (UNI) Manipur Agriculture Minister P H Parijat has announced that there will be no shortage of fertiliser in Manipur during the peak season.

The minister said the centre has allotted 27,000 MT urea to meet the demands of the farmers.

The urea would be picked up from Brahmapur Valley Fertiliser Corporation Ltd of Namrup and India Farmers Fertiliser Corporation of Guwahati, he said.

The kharif crops in the state failed last year due to an economic blockade called by ANSAM.

To avert any major crisis, the government has started bringing fertilisers now and allocations for all the districts had been done.

He appealed to the farmers to place their requirements and urea would be given through agents and dealers.
