SP kept Jaya in dark on office-of-profit: Raj Babbar
New Delhi, May 8 (UNI) Reacting to the Supreme Court's rejection of Ms Jaya Bachchan's petition on the office-of-profit, suspended Samajwadi Party member Raj Babbar today said the party people have only mislead her.
''The law was very clear on the office-of-profit, and it was the fault of the Samajwadi Party leaders that they did not tell the factual position to Ms Bachhan,'' Mr Babbar told UNI.
Party leaders have only used Ms Bachchan for their narrow ends, said the star-turned politician, who recently fell out with the SP mainly on the issue of the ''broker culture introduced by party general secretary Amar Singh.''.
''She is a very talented artiste, respected all over the country for her contribution to the Indian cinema, but it was unfortunate that some people in her party were only exploiting her position,'' Mr Babbar said. He has been named president of the newly floated Jan Morcha launched by former Prime Minister VP Singh last month.
The Supreme Court today dismissed a petition filed by Ms Bachchan challenging the presidential order disqualifying her as a member of the Rajya Sabha.
The court said whether she was getting actual pecuniary gain out of the office she was holding was of no consequence.
