SC stays Karnataka HC order on Bangalore-Mysore Express highway
New Delhi, May 8 (UNI) The Supreme Court today stayed the Karnataka High Court order on a petition filed by the M/S Nanadi infrastructue corridor challenging the state government's order not to proceed with the construction of the peripheral road connectng connecting Bangalore-Mysore express highway.
A bench comprising Ms Justice Ruma Pal and Mr Justice Markandey Katju also issued notices on the appeal filed by the petitioner alleging that it has already completed construction of 35 km of the road.
Mr Anant Raman, appearing for the petitioner, submitted that his client has already complied with the condition of not bisecting the tank and has constructed the road around the Gottigere tank and the order of the court that Nandi has no locus standi to intervene in the contempt petition filed by Gottigere village panchayat and others against the Karnataka urban development secretary and the Bangalore devlopment authority, he added He also contended the Karnataka state govternment's order directing the contractor to stop work was illegal.
