Martyrs of Harding Bomb case remembered
New Delhi, May 8 (UNI) Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit paid homage to the martyrs of the Harding Bomb case of 1915 at their memorial inside Maulana Azad Medical College campus here today.
Freedom fighters Master Amir Chand, Bhai Bal Mukund and Master Awadh Behari were executed here while Basant Kumar Biswas in Ambala Central jail on May 8 and 9, 1915, for having thrown a bomb in Chandni Chowk at the procession of the then Governor General of India.
Lord Harding was injured in the attack.
The executions here were carried out in the old Delhi jail where the MAMC campus now stands.
According to an official statement, Ms Dikshit, a number of freedom fighters and other dignitaries paid floral tributes to the martyrs.
