IBPS conducts exams for IOB promotions on-line for first time

Mumbai, May 8 (UNI) The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) has for the first time conducted an on-line examination for officers of the Indian Overseas Bank (IOB) for promotion from Scale I to Scale II on April 30.

The test was conducted in 47 towns and cities at 123 venues and covering 867 officers simultaneously in one sitting. This paperless exam proved to be highly successful in terms of its location, network and reach as well as speed, accuracy and confidentiality, a press release issued here today said.

The IBPS caters to the requirements of the entire banking system, financial institutions and other public sector undertakings in respect of their manpower requirements, selection for promotions and placement.

With feedback on the on-line exam being very positive, the institute will conduct such on-line exams on a wider scale in the future, the release added.
