Haryana Speaker gets Bharat Jyoti Award
Chandigarh, May 8 (UNI) Haryana Speaker Raghuvir Singh Kadian has been conferred with the 'Bharat Jyoti Award' by the India International Friendship Society.
Speaking at a conference on 'Economic Growth and National Integration' organised on this occasion at New Delhi today, Dr Kadian observed that unless every Indian considered himself an Indian first and attained social and economic security, the integration of India was incomplete.
Recollecting the famous 'talisman' of Mahatma Gandhi, he stressed on the redressal of grievances of hapless downtrodden millions.
He observed that agriculture continued to hold the key to higher GDP growth, employment expansion, reduction in poverty and equitable distribution of income.
He stressed on food security, water security and diversification of agriculture for sound economic growth. He reiterated that the country's strength lay in its unity in diversity and we have to preserve it at any cost.
The India International Friendship Society consists of eminent Indian experts whose aim was to forge greater friendship and cooperation with all the countries of the globe.
