Haryana raises special allowance of Safai Karamcharis
Chandigarh, May 8 (UNI) Haryana Finance Minister Birender Singh today announced a hike of Rs 200 in the special allowance of all Safai Karamcharis working in various departments, public undertakings and municipalities in the state with effect from this month.
Earlier, the safai karamcharis were getting Rs 65 as special allowance which had now been raised to Rs 265 per month.
Mr Birender Singh said in order to speed up the disposal of medical reimbursement claim cases in which treatment was taken from any reputed or specialised hospitals outside the approved list of medical institutions, administrative departments had been given the power to sanction these claims.
He said earlier the Finance Department granted approval for such claims.
Now the Administrative Department could give the approval without referring the claims to the Finance Department subject to the condition that due permission had been taken from appropriate authority in the administrative department before incurring such expenditure, he added.
