Rededicate for the cause of community : Governor

Kohima, May 8 : Nagaland Governor Shyamal Datta has called upon the people to rededicate for the cause of community service on the Red Cross Day to serve the society better.

In a message to the people of the state on the eve of the World Red Cross Day last evening, Datta, who is also the state President of the Indian Red Cross Society, said the Red Cross movement provides an effective channel to harness the community spirit in aid of the people.

The volunteers, who are the future of this great organization, work silently in a selfless manner to help people in distress, he said, pointing out that the strength of the Red Cross movement lies in the 95 million dedicated volunteers.

This year's theme for the Red Cross Day is 'Our Strength, Our future: Committed volunteer.'
