Court rejects bail petition of Sadhu Yadav

Patna, May 08: Ptna High Court today rejected the anticipatory bail application of RJD MP Aniruddh Prasad Yadav alias Sadhu Yadav in connection with multi-crore rupee flood relief scam.

A single bench of Justice Mr Chandramauli Kumar Prasad turned down the petition, observing that the Delhi court had already dismissed the bail application of the accused in the same case.

The counsel of the state Vigilance Bureau submitted before the court that the accused had misled the Delhi Court by giving false affidavit stating that no petition seeking anticipatory bail in the concerned scam case was pending in any court.

The petitioner's counsel tried to defend his client by submitting that it was merely a communication gap and the accused had never the intention to mislead the court.

Earlier, Mr Yadav, brother-in-law of Railway Minister Lalu Prasad had filed an anticipatory bail application in the Delhi court which was later turned down.

Mr Yadav had been made accused in the flood relief scam and chargesheeted by the Vigilance Bureau probing the scam. In the chargesheet it had been mentioned that over Rs 6 to 7 lakh was transferred in the account of Mr Yadav from the account of the kingpin of the scam.
