City Corporation files complaint against Cricket Association
Kochi, May 8 (UNI) The Cochin Corporation food inspector today filed a criminal complaint against the office-bearers of the Kerala Cricket Association, including its secretary P C Mathew, for supplying sub- standard food to the policemen on security duty at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on the day of the India-England cricket match recetnly. Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate, Ernakulam, took cognizance of the offence under the Prevention of Food Adultration Act against the accused and issued summons to them to appear before the court.
In the complaint filed by the food inspector it has been stated that the biriyani supplied by the Cricket Association to 3,000 police men were unconsumable.
