Azad asks officials to be honest and committed
Srinagar, May 8 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad today asked the officials to be honest and show hundred per cent commitment towards their work for overall economic development of the state.
''I want hundred per cent commitment from the officers and the employees towards their work, and not to Ghulam Nabi Azad, to improve the socio-economic condition of the state,'' Mr Azad said here on the first day of re-opening of darbar move offices after functioning in Jammu for six months.
The commitment should be from top to bottom, he added.
''There should be a sense of belonging among all the employees that the land, the state and the country is ours. So, let us work for its betterment,'' the Chief Minister said.
He asked the officials to ''stop looking at their watches'' and work tirelessly for the development of the state.
''For the past 30 years, I have worked continuously for 24 hours on several occasions. If we are not committed to our work, we can't even be honest,'' Mr Azad added.
''It is good to offer prayers in temples, mosques and gurdwaras, but at the same time, we should also be committed to our responsibilities because work is worship. If the commitment is not there...then I believe everything else is useless,'' he said.
