'Media must restrain from sex scandal reporting'

Srinagar, May 8: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad today asked the media to observe restraint in reporting about the sex scandal that has rocked the entire Valley for the past several days.

''We should immediately stop the display of our women in such a bad light. The protests have brought disrepute to the Kashmiri society. The protestors should know that by such demonstrations they are giving a bad name to the society, our women and the state...All Kashmiris are being put in one category only,'' Mr Azad said.

He was addressing the officials here on the re-opening of darbar move offices.

Mr Azad called upon the people to use their influencing in putting an end to these protests.

The Chief Minister also asked the media to be responsible and show restraint in reporting about the sex scandal.
