New Delhi, May 8: Energy Transmission and Distribution major Areva T&D India Ltd has reported a 178 per cent hike in its net profit at Rs 23.64 crore for the first quarter ended March 31, 2006, as against Rs 8.49 crore for the corresponding period last year.

The company reported a 69 per cent jump in its sales to Rs 406.79 crore from Rs 240.20 crore last year, and a 9.1 per cent jump in its operating profit from 7.1 per cent last year.

The next Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the company is scheduled on May 16, 2006.
