20-member Chandigarh team for junior Wushu nationals

Chandigarh, May 8 (UNI) A 20-member team will represent Chandigarh in the sixth Junior National Wushu Championship to be held at Jabalpur from May 10 to 15.

Announcing the team here today, the Chandigarh Wushu Association secretary Sudershan Kumar said that the team was finalised during the 18-day coaching camp held at the Sector 30 Labour Hall here.

He said that an Indian team would be selected during the Junior Nationals. The selected players will compete in the World Junior Wushu Championship to be held in Malaysia from August 19 to 27.

The team: Sanshou (Boys): Vikram (below 45 kg), Umed Singh (below 48 kg), Vikas Rawat (below 52 skg), Ranjan Mehta (below 56 kg), Balbir Singh (below 60 kg), Tijender Pal (below 65 kg), Yajur Digvijay Singh (below 75 kg), Kulwant Singh (below 80 kg).

Sanshou (girls): Hardeep Kaur (below 45 kg), Sangeeta (below 48 kg), Divya (below 52 kg), Anita Raj (below 56 kg).

Routine: Varinder Rana, Amit, Abhishek, Ravi Pal.

Rakesh Kumar (manager boys ) and Vinod Kumar (coach boys ), Sapna (coach girls ), Supriya (manager girls) will accompany the team as officials.
