Tyagi, the first Chief of Air Staff to adventure skydive

New Delhi, May 7 (UNI) Air Chief Marshal S P Tyagi today became the first Chief of Air Staff (COAS) to skydive.

He did two independent skydives at 1015 hrs and 1030 hrs at Air Force Station, Hindon, according to an official release here.

After parachute jumps, the COAS had undergone further training with the Directorate of Air Force Adventure and today he completed an independent skydive.

The COAS jumped from a height of 4500 feet.

He did free fall upto 3500 feet and then opened his parachute on his own.

During free fall, the rate of descent of the COAS was 180 feet per second, the official release added.
