Shahabuddins trial in the Siwan jail itself
Patna, Apr 7 (UNI) The trial of controversial RJD MP Mohammed Shahabuddin would be conducted at the Siwan district jail where he was shifted from Bhagalpur central jail today for speedy trial of cases filed against him.
Police Superintendent (Security), posted at the state police headquarters, Sudhir Kumar said here that a room of Siwan jail would be notified as the special court which would conduct trial against the RJD MP.
Official sources said that the decision to this effect was taken to ensure full proof security and also to preempt any chance of intimidation of witnesses which might be resorted to by Mr Shahabuddin.
Jawans of special task force and Special Auxillary Police (recently raised by employing ex Army personnel) would be deployed at the main gate of the Siwan district jail for frisking each and every visitor to the prison thoroughly. Each and every visitor to the jail would also be videographed, sources added.
The RJD MP faced charges of kidnapping, murder and extortion, vehicle theft, electricity theft besides possessing foreign make firearms, foreign currency, night vision device.
