Salem collector replaced following EC order

Chennai, May 7 (UNI) Mr Dheeraj Kumar, Managing Director of Tamil Nadu Magnesite Limited, Salem, has been transferred and posted as the Collector of Salem District.

According to an official release here, Mr Kumar will replace Mr A Sukamaran.

The Election Commission, in a communique to the State Chief Secretary last night, ordered the immediate transfer of Mr Sukumaran and sought a fresh panel of names for the posting.

Mr Sukumaran was tranferred for his alleged failure to carry out preventive arrests ahead of the Assembly elections tomorrow.
