PPCC expels three partymen for anti-party activities
Pondicherry, May 7 : The Pondicherry Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) today expelled three party functionaries, including Karaikal town planning authority K R Udayakumar, from the party for their alleged anti-party activities.
Talking to newspersons here, PPCC General Secretary A Gandhiraj said there were complaints that Mr Udayakumar was working for V M C V Ganapathy, a rebel Congress candidate in Neravy constituency in Karaikal region, opposing V M C Sivakumar, DMK candidate. Since, Mr Udayakumar failed to give a reply to the explantion sought from him, he was expelled from the party, approved by the AICC, he added.
Similarly G Ramamurty,a party functionary from Mannadipet and S M A Karunanidhi of Karuvadikuppam, were also expelled since they worked against the PMK candidate at Mannadipet and Congress candidate at Lawspet constituencies, respectively.
Mr Gandhiraj alleged that complaints had also reached against several party workers for indulging in anti-party activities. Stern action would be initiated against the indisiciplined workers after the polls, if they do not mend their ways, he warned.
